Getting Myself Together
As a child and teenager, I was what Flylady might call B.O. — that’s “Born Organized” to everyone who’s snickering right now. I was neat and organized, always had information at my fingertips and had countless facts stored in my head. I got good grades, and never needed to write anything down. I was pretty well together.
And then I got sick…
I’ll spare you the ugly details, but after a couple years of medications, specialists and one Radioactive Iodine treatment, my thyroid was dead and I was feeling better. But something else died too — that little B.O. part of me went right out the window. Since losing my thyroid, I’ve been a different person; scatter-brained, forgetful, nervous, never know quite where to start.
I’ve tried lots of different organization “systems”: Flylady, SHE, CYLC, GTD. But every one of us is unique, and none of those systems seem to fit ME. So, it’s a new year and I’ve decided to step out on my own.
I’ll be posting some of the nifty tips and tricks that I come up with, as well as new things that I learn about myself and how I work. Please feel free to follow along as I try to get myself together — once and for all. If you’ve got ideas or comments, by all means, post them.
