Wild and Crazy Kindof Guys
Having a pilot (hobby!) for a husband is pretty cool. We like to fly out to small local airports for breakfast or lunch on the weekends. If you haven’t enjoyed a meal at your local GA (General Aviation) airport, you really should — airport restaurants typically have great food and even greater prices. Altoon, Lancaster and York are our favorites, although our home base (Frederick) has a mighty fine halibut sandwich.
So, of course my pilot husband has pilot friends. We get together with them every couple of weeks for some “hangar flyin” (meat on the grill & lots of chit-chat). But a couple of them like to fly over the house once in a while. One friend just sold his biplane, but before selling it he’d buzz our place in it around 8am on Saturday mornings. Another of our friends recently finished building his kit plane (same manufacturer as the one we’re building) and did some barrel rolls and loops over the house this weekend. We always seem to have someone flyin’ over to say “hi!”
