Monster Squash
When I left for Orlando on Tuesday morning (very early Tuesday morning), I had a couple of tiny zucchini starting to form. I also had 17 baby tomatoes. When I got back this afternoon, I was greeted by these monsters. In order to keep squash plants producing, you’re supposed to pick them when they are no more than 6 - 8 inches long and still immature. The maturing of seeds can stop the plant from growing any more — so I’m wondering what’s going to happen now. They’re not going to last too long, so I was thinking about shredding them (since they are likely to be tough) and making zucchini bread with some, and maybe shredding and freezing the rest of them.
By the way, in this post I’m experimenting with Flickr.com. The picture is hosted there, and I used their software to post this entry. Pretty slick. ![]()
