Northern Mockingbird Chicks

The Northern Mockingbird chicks hatched while we were at AirVenture; most likely on Saturday. Today they’re about a week old, and this is what they look like. Tiny little guys, but full of energy! Mom is starting to get more agitated about me peeking into the nest, so this is probably the last time I’ll see them before they leave the nest. I plan on taking some closeup shots of the empty nest while they’re gone — it’s very intricate, and has been strong enough to withstand some serious winds in the last couple of weeks. You can see the other photographs from this series are on my Flickr site.
