Changing Weather

The weather is starting to change. While it’s still hot, it’s been raining more frequently. My tomato plants are starting to bloom in advance of a fresh crop. The rose bushes are full of beautiful pink petals. My fall vegetables are starting to come up. The sun is setting much earlier — it’s dark before 7:30pm now. The wind is starting to pick up now too. All signs that fall is on its way. I love the fall season. Beautiful colored leaves and crisp air. Wind howling outside and a nice warm fireplace inside.

My aunt will be here for a visit in a couple of weeks. She timed it so that she could see the leaves change color. We’re going to try to get some crabs too. We were also going to go to Mount Airy Fall Fest. I assume that the event is still “on” despite the downtown fire last week. Main Street is still closed to traffic. Hopefully it will be open to foot traffic by the time the festival rolls around.
