Giddy Yet?
I am! Just a hair over 5 days to go. My fever is gone, my cough is mostly gone and I’m almost back to normal.
I tend to be the type that packs the kitchen sink so that every contingency is covered, but I’m going to try not to do that this time. I’d like to travel as lightly in the parks as possible. I do not need the kitchen sink. I do not need the kitchen sink!
My standard load for a day of adventure looks like this:
- spare socks
- baby powder
- Tylenol
- Charmin TP to-go
- Charmin seat gaskets
- flushable wipes
- snacks
- water
- spare camera batteries
- sunscreen
- hats
- waterless hand gel
- tissues
- ponchos
- wind breakers
We’re prepared for every situation from wet socks to unclean spot-a-potties. Of course, that means one of us gets to lug a backpack everywhere. I really want to pare it down; the problem is that we always end up actually using the stuff. *sigh* It’s a sickness.
To pack or not to pack — that is the question!!
