Everything is Coming Alive
So, other than last night’s Obamaness, I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. I went on business travel, came home for a week and then left on travel again. But I’m home now — for a while, I hope.
Right before I left, I put some veggies down in the garden. This week the seeds started coming up. The Maple tree in our neighbor’s front yard bloomed and leaved (leafed? whatever.). The grass is growing faster than I can cut it. I also got to dry my first batch of clothes on the line this past weekend, and even harvested my first spinach from the garden.
Eggs.. we’ve got eggs!
Those are House Finch eggs in the Purple Martin house. Oh well, at least someone’s using it. The previous owners let it go and I haven’t been able to get the Martins to come back. I took that photo the evening before I left on my last business trip (April 21st), and heard them peeping this week so I imagine we’ll see some solo flights in the next couple of weeks.
Everything around here is green and beautiful. The corn and hay are starting to come up across the street. Micro-moos (baby cows) are everywhere. Oh yes, I love this time of year.
