Skunk in My Feeder?
Ok, not in the feeder — but there’s one out there right now, feasting on what the birds dropped on the ground. A couple of weeks ago, I had a raccoon in the Dogwood stealing from the bird feeders. Last night, something got into the trash on the deck and now there is a skunk not 15 feet from the window. I should probably reconsider feeding the birds, since it’s bringing other critters calling. 
The cats are going crazy looking the skunk, but it doesn’t seem to have noticed yet. It walks with an extreme limp, so I can only imagine that it was one of the lucky ones. We’ve got foxes around — I found a couple of dismembered skunks on the hill last summer. I saw some “fox, raccoon, skunk, groundhog and snake” repellent at the hardware store today — maybe I should pick some up.
