Wicked Weather
We had some wicked storms in the area today. My office had a dozen brown-outs and a couple outright power failures. After the last power hit that the building took, the network and phones didn’t come back up, so I finally had to just face facts and send everyone home. Power was out everywhere I passed by on the way home. Luckily, my street had gotten ours back already so I didn’t have to figure out how the generator works (and who knows how far I would have had to drive to find a gas station that was open). Our neighbor’s house has lots of branches down, and our lawn is littered with clusters of oak leaves. Other than that, I don’t think we lost anything despite the 70 mph winds that AWS was reporting. Here’s what it looked like:
The National Weather Service just put out a second Severe Storm Warning and I hear the rumbles of thunder again. We’re under a Tornado Watch until after 9pm. Here’s what it looks like now:
Fun, fun, fun. I wonder if the network and phones will be back up in the office tomorrow? Something must be seriously hosed up — even the electronic locks (with PINs) weren’t working when I left.
