Death, Destruction and Snow

So… yesterday morning I heard that we might get 3 inches of snow this evening.  Last night they had changed the forecast to 5 inches.  This morning on the way to church they were saying 6 inches.  On the way home they revised the forecast again…. 8 to 12 inches.  Check out this monster:

Since we both had to work at church today (John does sound and today was my first day helping the pastor’s wife as a Service Coordinator), we missed the Oyster Dinner at the local fire hall.  We’re going to have our own instead.  I had to run by Food Lion on the way home to get some canola oil so I can fry them up, and it was packed.  Safeway was insane yesterday.  I did my normal grocery shopping and had to wait in a line for 40 minutes (halfway down the pet food aisle) before I got to the checkout counter.  That’s longer than it took me to get the shopping done in the first place!

So, the Bread, Milk and Toilet Paper Alert ™ is in full effect out here in Moo Country.  We got a light slushy dusting overnight, but it was gone by the time I got out of church.  The monster is coming up the coast but the wet stuff hasn’t started falling yet.  It’s going to have to seriously come down in order for us to get 8 – 12 inches overnight.  We’ve got a generater, a gas fireplace, movies and lots of popcorn.  Bring it on… we’re ready!!
