PMP, Here I Come

I think I mentioned before about my employer offering to put me in a Project Management Professional (PMP) bootcamp.  I had already passed our own internal CBT-based PMP class with an exam score of 90%, so when they offered me a real bootcamp and a chance to take the certification exam I would have been dumb not to.  The bootcamp was great.  I was a bit nervous at first because none of the material was scary, and it all made sense to me — surely I must be missing something, right?  Well, I did well on all of the practice exams and problems and the instructor of the class told me that she thinks I’m ready for the exam — so I scheduled it!

I scored a 95% on one last practice exam this evening (200 questions!), so I guess this is it. My exam is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon and it’s a computer-based exam, which means that I’ll get my results instantly. I’m really looking forward to that, because the wait for my CISSP results was excruciating.

I think I’m beyond the point of learning new material, so I’m trying to spend some time each day reading a chapter of the PMBOK Guide (the basis for the PMP exam). I’m scheduled to take the exam at 1pm on Tuesday, so I was thinking about leaving work early and having a nice lunch somewhere like Carrabas to relax beforehand. I wonder if they’re even open that early?  Anyway; wish me luck!  I’ve really been working hard to prepare for this one.
