2009 WrapUp
Getting that 2010 Handbook email really reminded me that I never put an official end to 2009. All-in-all, it was a good year for us. We had good times, and downright ugly times, but we’re still here and that’s a Good Thing ™. From my viewpoint, here are the highlights and lowlights:
- All of the infertility stuff is at the top of the list. Enormous highs of hopefulness and lows of hopelessness. We won’t be having biological children, but infertility didn’t beat us…. we will have kids; they just won’t look like us (which could actually be a good thing, lol).
- I earned my PMP credential in July.
- I completed 5 college courses toward my degree — there’s no stopping me now!
- We had two great vacations: Disney World and AirVenture.
- I flew to Norway (and stayed there a whole week) ALL BY MYSELF. Unfortunately Denmark was the only country that stamped my passport, so there’s no proof I was really there (unless you count the blurry picture of me in front of the Arctic Cathedral).
- I became a Certified CC evaluator in Canada.
- John finished the wings of the RV-9 and made tremendous progress on the fuselage.
- He also changed jobs, which is always an adventure.
- It took forever, but we officially started the adoption process.
- I lost 16 lbs — and have kept them off. Yippee!!!
- My job has become more frustrating and challenging than it ever has been before.
- Epic failure for both photography and bird watching — I didn’t do much of either in 2009 because I was just so busy. Need to fix that.
- Through all of the ups and downs, we got closer than we ever thought possible.
So there it is, folks — better late than never!
