Bourbon Brown Sugar Glazed Ham
Enough of the depressing stuff; here is the seriously awesome ham that I made for our Easter Dinner for two.
1/2 fully cooked smoked bone-in ham, not spiral cut (about 10 pounds)
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 cup dijon mustard
6 tablespoons bourbon
Trim all but 1/4 inch of fat from the ham, and score remaining fat in a [...]
So This is Easter
I’ll get the happy part out so you can click away to avoid the depressing part.

Christmas Time is Here

Real-time Thanksgiving… Almost
I brined my turkey overnight and got up at 1:30am to turn it over (have to make sure everything is brined evenly!), then got up at 6:00am to start cooking the feast. I took the turkey out of the brine and patted it dry, then seasoned the cavity with salt, pepper and dried thyme, and [...]
Merry Christmas!
We were at church all day yesterday setting up for our Chrismas programs (two showings) and John ran the sound for both. After that we headed to the home of one of his co-workers for a Christmas Eve reception of appetizers and such, and didn’t get home until after midnight. We’re up early today so [...]
